Camping & Walking Tours :Walking is an adventure anywhere, but in Cappadocia it is extra
exciting, there are several peaks to climb, and numberless
inviting trails. Cappadocia is a paradise both for
the stroller, and the ardent trekker. For people with
more time we can arrange three-day/two-night combined
walking and camping tours. Below is one of our guide’s
ideas but the possibilities are endless:
Day 1 Walk
from Goreme through the Pigeon Valley to Uchisar. Then
continue into the Honey Valley and Rose Valley for
a barbecue and to pitch camp. |
Day
2 Walk through the Rose Valley
to Cavusin and Zelve and then through the Devrent Valley
to Ortahisar. Take a minibus to the Bird Paradise at Ovaciftlik
to camp.
Day 3 Birdwatch by boat on the lake
and then take a dip in the hot spring at Bayramhacili before
returning to Goreme.
Free trekking Picnicking may be great
fun but often people get forgetful and leave the remains
of their meal behind them. At certain times of year our guides
organises special tours for people who wouldn’t mind bringing
along a plastic bag to help clean-up the valleys.
Trekking in Rose Valley (6 km): Five
hours approx. Suitable for mostpeople This particularly popular
walk takes you from Goreme to Cavusin along a wonderful valley
lined with rose-coloured rocks. On the way we stop to explore
several rock-cut churches, some of them decorated with frescoes.
Trekking Pigeon Valley (3 km) 1-1/2
hours approx. Tricky in places.Another very popular walk,
this one takes you from Goreme to Uchisar along a valley
that was only ever inhabited by pigeons whose old houses
line the valley walls.
